INGRID'S TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

I am often being asked if I have attended any formal training classes or purchased expensive equipment in order to capture the images you see on this site, but the answer is a lot more simple than you would expect - taking amazing travel pictures is all about practice and location. Although there is an equation to follow and techniques to master, photography is still an artistic skill developed through practice. Personal study into photographic techniques is important, however, the best advice I can give to those looking to spend a few dollars, pounds or euros on photography is to invest in going somewhere to take pictures, as you will invariably do better by practicing and becoming more familiar with your existing equipment than ‘upgrading’ cameras or lenses.

Since travel photography can cover almost the entire spectrum of photographic skills, rather than leave my advice as simply to travel and practice, I wanted to also share some of the tips I have learnt along my personal photographic journey.
